EN BUREN’: A LOCAL SUPPLIER BUT SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT
Restaurant
owners are increasingly showing off with local products and suppliers, and
their customers are too happy to indulge in a restaurant visit that is good for
the environment. As a restaurateur, do you have to enter into a partnership
with 10 different farmers to collect all the fruit and vegetables you want to
use? Or how can this be organized in a job that is already very busy? Boeren & buren, a local supplier but
slightly different.
Boeren
& Buren is an online farmers' market that wants to help farmers and
producers sell their produce directly to consumers. The project was motivated
by the desire for healthy, local eating and sustainable living. The farmers and
producers set their own prices and thus receive a fair price for their produce.
Customers can place orders through the online platform and then receive the
products from the farmers and producers at a local venue, once a week. A one-stop-shop for local products. Fruits,
vegetables, dairy, meat and bread are always part of the offer in an Assembly,
complemented by other products. There are also branches of ‘Boeren en buren’ in
The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Switzerland.
