EUROPEAN SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT WEEK
As part of the celebration of the European Sustainable Development week from 26.09.2023 to 28.09.2023, various activities were held with the students from Center for Education Slave Raškaj Zagreb.
The initiative aims to encourage and create visible activities, projects and events that promote sustainable development and global sustainable development goals.
26.09.2023 a short lecture was held with the students with a video presentation and workshop. Since the Center for Education Slave Raškaj Zagreb has been participating in international projects for many years, dealing with the topic of sustainability, we have introduced students and presented them with material that has been created through years of work in these projects. The students also looked at the video recipes created by the ongoing project Zero waste catering lab. These are recipes designed by students themselves guided by the principles of Zerowaste and sustainable development (local and seasonal products, organic farming, biodynamic farming, energy saving and renewable energy sources, recycling, composting).
Video recipes are available here and the dishes were prepared by the authors themselves.
27.09.2023 an ESCAPE ROOM game was held with students in which a group of pupils showed learned knowledge of sustainable development through play and a series of tasks. The game served as an interactive and fun repetition of knowledge, but also as an innovative way of learning through the game.
28.09.2023 the „Green closet“ project was held that promotes sustainable and ecological activity and informs our students about the importance and benefits of circular economy, i.e. the representation of the Zero waste principle in private and business life. The exchange of clothing, footwear, blankets, and jewelry takes place on Monday and Thursday from 12 - 14 h and is perfectly accepted among students and teachers.
